The Role

The primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate closely with MEPH subcontractors to ensure the efficient installation, commissioning, and integration of MEPH systems in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The MEPH Project Manager will function as the primary point of contact for the MEPH subcontractors throughout the construction stage on key projects, fostering collaborative working relationships and ensuring clear communication channels are established and maintained.

You will review and interpret MEPH drawings, specifications, and schedules to develop comprehensive installation plans and sequences in coordination with the project team and subcontractors.

The Project Manager will conduct regular coordination meetings with MEPH subcontractors, design consultants, and other project stakeholders to identify and resolve potential clashes, conflicts, or deviations from plans.

You will monitor the progress of MEPH installation activities on site, conducting regular site inspections to verify compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards.

The Project Manager will coordinate closely with the project management team to track and manage MEPH-related resources, schedules, and budgets, identifying any potential risks or issues and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

You will review MEPH technical submittals, manufacture drawings, and material selections submitted by subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications, HTM’s, HBN’s and industry standards.

Additionally, you will facilitate the commissioning and testing of MEPH systems, collaborating closely with subcontractors, engineers, and testing agencies to ensure proper functionality, performance, and compliance with project requirements.

The Project Manager will provide timely and accurate progress reports, updates, and documentation related to MEPH activities to the project team and stakeholders, highlighting any key milestones, issues, or concerns. Also. You will support the resolution of MEPH-related technical queries, RFIs, and change orders, collaborating with the design team, subcontractors, and client representatives to achieve timely and satisfactory outcomes. Additionally, you will check compliance of the M&E installations and the installation is as per the required specification.


The Person

The successful candidate will ideally possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or related field – or equivalent qualification / experience.

You will have proven experience as an MEPH Project Manager in the construction industry, with a focus on coordinating MEPH activities during the construction stage (RIBA 4 onwards) and demonstrate strong knowledge of MEPH systems, construction methods, building codes, and regulations relevant to healthcare facilities (HTM’s and HBN’s)

The MEPH Project Manager will have excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills coupled with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors, project team members, and stakeholders.

You will demonstrate proficiency in project management software, such as, Microsoft Project, or similar tools and ideally hold relevant professional certifications or memberships (e.g., CIBSE, CIOB). The certifications are advantageous but not essential.
