Senior Buyer

Due to growth, a leading manufacturer has a new vacancy for a Senior Buyer to join the team.  Candidates are sought with purchasing experience gained in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and must have excellent supplier negotiation skills and a proven track record of developing supplier agreements.

Commutable from: Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon, Coventry, Birmingham, Banbury, Warwick. 

Salary: £ 42,000 - £ 50,000 plus benefits. 

Suitable for: Senior Buyer, Buyer, Purchasing Manager. 

The Role

Develop strong supplier relationships and agreements.
Review and manage supplier performance.
Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost quality and delivery targets.
Monitor market trends and competitor strategies.
Reduce costs where possible.
Develop creative and innovative procurement processes in line with business procedures.
Negotiate prices and terms of business with suppliers.
Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews.
Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
Prepare purchase orders in line with financial negotiations.
Drive supply chain improvements.
Receive and analyse quotations.

The Person

Candidates are sought with strong and effective negotiation skills, a proven track record of supplier development and you will ideally have worked in manufacturing or engineering environment but candidates will also be considered from other sectors.  With a relevant purchasing qualification you must have strong communication skills with the confidence and ability to work with senior management.
