Consilium Recruit is exclusively partnering a global leading manufacturer of complex engineered products who have a new vacancy for a Business Development Manager. Applicants are sought with experience working in the Marine Defence/Military sectors and you will be tasked with developing the market sales strategy, identifying new business opportunities, and building long term customer relationships.
Commutable from: UK – Remote
Salary: £ 65,000 - £ 75,000 p.a. + car allowance + bonus + pension
Suitable for: Business Development Manager, Business Development Director, Head of Business Development. Sales Director, Sales Manager, Commercial Manager, Commercial Director.
The Role
Develop and implement the market sales strategy for the Marine division.
Identify new business opportunities, build key customer relationships & negotiate deals.
Maintain an extensive knowledge of current market conditions and commercial opportunities.
Drive business unit opportunities increasing leads generated and bids submitted.
Develop and enhance the company’s existing market position.
Network through industry events, visits, forums & other platforms
Set and maintain pricing strategies to all customers to ensure profitability.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to ensure goals of the Business Unit are achieved.
Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly sales reports.
Work with the senior leadership team to ensure products meet with industry requirements and advise on new opportunities.
The Candidate
Strong and thorough knowledge of the marine market including key stakeholders.
Proven track record of winning new business and developing long term accounts.
Thorough understanding of market trends, domestic and internationally for OEM vessels and associated knowledge of marine facilities & assets including OEM and aftermarket.
Ability and willingness to travel globally.
Self-driven with thorough attention to detail.
Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
