Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer - Hydrogen. The Design and Build Production Solutions Senior Research Engineer (SRE) role is primarily focused on the independent technical delivery of projects and leadership in the development of project related activities across The MTC, working across various technology departments and industrial sectors.

As Senior Research Engineer - Hydrogen duties and responsibilities include:
To lead project technical deliverables, taking ownership to ensure work meets or exceeds agreed customer requirements, and is delivered within agreed budgets and timescales. Where delegated, to act as Technical Governance lead for project deliverables.
Undertake innovative Engineering research work focused primarily on technology/ manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3+, able to demonstrate industrial project delivery. You will support Senior Managers with a proactive approach in the identification, technical specification, and delivery of ne and novel technology capability into the MTC, customers, or industrial member‘s premises.
You will require involvement in all aspects of the project delivery, taking overall ownership and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, technical support of commissioning, management of project budget and deliverables.
The purpose of this is to support to develop the hydrogen offering in Net Zero. Provide technical oversight, and to work closely with the technology themes and clients to develop market appropriate MTC offerings that ensure the MTC is delivering on the appropriate opportunities for maximum impact in the UK sectors
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Research Engineer - Hydrogen will have/be:
Degree educated holding one of the following; BSc, BEng, MSc or MEng in an appropriate Mechanical Engineering or other suitable Engineering discipline, and to be in the process, aspire, or be professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer;
The candidate must have extensive knowledge and demonstrable experience working in the hydrogen sector; this could be any part of the hydrogen supply chain, including but not limited to: production, distribution, transport or end use.
Knowledge of appropriate materials, relevant directives, regulations and standards is expected with an awareness of industrial challenges surrounding hydrogen and its adoption in various UK industries.
The candidate should have practical experience in the application of hydrogen equipment to decarbonise the UK economy and be passionate about Net Zero, sustainability and a green economy.
Demonstrable experience of designing machinery, manufacturing equipment, processes, or products relating to hydrogen use. In particular the candidate should have experience with the design of one or many the following:
Hydrogen processing equipment
Hydrogen production equipment
