The first 6 months at Consilium Recruit

We took some time out recently to talk to Marlena about her first 6 months with Consilium and how she found it.  Marlena joined us earlier in the year working as a Resource Consultant.

Congratulations Marlena on passing your probation.  How have you found your first 6 months?

The first 6 months have been great, but also involved hard work. It’s my first time in the engineering and manufacturing sector, and there was a lot to learn about, but thanks to a great team I have been fully supported and they helped me to enjoy my work. Can’t wait for what the future brings here at Consilium.

What was your background before joining Consilium?

I have 1 year’s previous experience in recruitment, working as Recruitment Consultant in the hospitality industry focusing on temporary roles. Very different to what I am doing now, however my previous job also taught me a lot, such as how to be resilient and work to deadlines. Before starting my recruitment career, I studied Business and Management and Logistics.

How have you found the training you have received through your induction?

Thanks to the training, I have learned valuable tips from the people that have been within this industry for years. Even with a year in recruitment, the training brought a lot of points on how to find the right candidate, attract them to the role, plus outstanding service and support.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Making a positive impact on people’s lives by helping them to get into their dream job, but also building relationships with so many different characters from a diversity of backgrounds. Also, every project is different, every person that I am speaking to is different, so I am not getting bored.

What made you choose to join Consilium?

I really enjoyed the interviewing process, and I knew from the start that Consilium would be a great place for me. I have been attracted by a great plan of potential career development, training and support given by the team.

What skills would you like to develop next?

Hopefully, when everything would come back to pre-pandemic, I would like to have more exposure to visiting clients again. I am planning to start industry linked qualifications at some point in the future.

Tell us something interesting about yourself.

Things that I cannot live without are good coffee and custard cream biscuits. I am also a traveller type, always keen to learn new languages. I am also a dog lover, I used to volunteer in dog shelters.
