MTC offer gold standard apprentices

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Coventry is actively seeking Levy-paying businesses to take on 60 of the centre’s ‘gold standard’ apprentices from 2019’ intake.

The scheme allows manufacturers the chance to use their Apprentice Levy to fund engineering apprentices who will receive training in product design and development, including the latest emerging manufacturing technologies in the MTC’s industry-leading Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC). The apprentices begin in September ’18 and will be based at the AMTC for their first year, with secondments to their host employer, with block release courses delivered at the AMTC. With an initial intake of 96, the MTC plans to triple that number by 2020.

Coli Bancroft, apprentice placement leader at MTC stated that the apprentices on the MTC’s programme received a very high standard of training in manufacturing and engineering, using the AMTC’s cutting-edge equipment.  AMTC apprentices really are the gold standard and are exactly what manufacturing industry needs to fil the high-tech jobs of the future. Their apprenticeship courses have the advantage of not being company-specific or sector-specific, so the result is a fully rounded apprentice capable of filling the most demanding of manufacturing and engineering positions.
