Consilium chosen to partner new Technical Centre

TAFE Ltd, the world’s third largest producer of tractors and farming equipment, has appointed Consilium Recruit as its partner to help recruit up to 100 specialists for its new European Technical Centre in Shropshire.

The Indian-owned manufacturer plans to open its new purpose-built design and development hub near Newport in June – a 250 square metre facility close to leading agricultural university, Harper Adams College with whom an important partnership will be built to help test and develop new technologies with the Shropshire farming community.

The arrangement will see Consilium, which is headquartered in Stratford-upon-Avon, leading recruitment activity to fill a range of permanent specialist engineering roles as TAFE focusses on developing its low carbon and smart agricultural technology for the European market.  The company has also transferred a number of its specialists from its sister technical centre in Chennai, India.

James Colley, director at Consilium Recruit who is leading the recruitment drive, said: “We are proud to be supporting the team at TAFE to recruit a variety of talented and experienced professionals for their new Shropshire-based technical centre.  The company is making a significant investment into the UK which will ultimately support and drive innovation in the country’s agricultural sector for many decades to come.

“It is rare for so many specialist engineering roles to be made available and we are already seeing strong interest.  Overall, it is another brilliant milestone for us to be working with TAFE and a high-profile project we are delighted to be trusted with.”

“The new centre will drive innovation, real-world testing and help us to share our expertise with the agricultural sector – especially in Shropshire where the industry plays such a vital role.  This means that we need only the best and most ambitious engineers to be part of the team.
